The Imagination Island Program

Imagination Island is a program created by Generate U  for children between the ages of 6 to 12 years old. Imagination Island™ aims to help youth shape their futures by fostering social and emotional learning competencies, specifically: self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision making, relationship skills, and social awareness.

(Imaginary) Friends make the world go 'round!

The program also provides students with opportunities to develop problem solving capabilities that will help them cope with adversity. The program is delivered over five (with room to expand) 60 minute sessions and uses an experiential learning approach.

The Imagination Island™ curriculum creates a safe and respectful space for students, using role playing to create solutions to everyday challenges. The students will develop skills to apply the core competencies that are embodied in all Generate U programs.

Desired Outcomes for Each Participant:

  1. Value the importance of imagination;
  2. Apply their imagination to create unusual solutions to problems;
  3. Manage reactions to adverse situations AND;
  4. Explore strategies for coping with change and adversity.

By participating in Imagination Island™, our goal is for students to leave the program with a set of strategies, techniques and tools to help them face all the challenges life has in store for them.

If you would like to discuss this further, please contact our Director of Operations, Jessica Saulnier-Porter at jessica@generateu.ca. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

The Generate U Team

What Do the Parents Have to Say?

Don't take our word for it-- here's what parent's are saying:
"I've always thought that having a life coach was something our daughter could benefit from but we hadn't found the right fit. Imagination Island was a great start. A kid-centered program where participants built their own resolutions - collaboratively! Meta-cognition at it's best! From my perspective, the program was a great match for E. She was able to work on strategies that needed reinforcement in a positive & welcoming space. A space where she felt excited to share & participate. Amazing.
-Heather, Parent
